Notability

edit

The subject has achieved notability through the general notability guidelines since the article went through AFD. Here's some significant media coverage of Brown:

Hmmm, the article as it is currently written doesn't establish notability. He was a one-year starter that did not make it in the NFL. His 2009 season was so notable is didn't even warrant a paragraph. NCAA athletes are going to get mentions in newspapers, but I don't think any of the refs lists are anything out of the ordinary. — X96lee15 (talk) 22:20, 24 September 2010 (UTC)Reply
Why do you assume his season as starter "didn't warrant a paragraph"? No one has written it yet. If you feel strongly about it, you can always send it to AFD. But other similar articles have been kept with about a quarter of the above coverage. A starting BCS quarterback is going to meet notability standards probably about 99% of the time. (And the media coverage was posted above before the 2009 season when he became the full-time starter.) Strikehold (talk) 23:27, 24 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

I believe this article meets the Good Article Criteria after my copyedit and will   pass this Good Article Nomination. I do have one suggestion below that would improve the article further:

  • You mention that Rivals rated him as a three-star quarterback. How did Scout rate him? There's a template {{College Athlete Recruit Start}} that I've seen on several college football player articles that summarizes the star rating—you might want to consider using it.

Thank you and congratulations! Grondemar 02:39, 13 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
