pronunciation

edit

Hey are you sure there is a caron on the C of Culina? Branko does not pronounce it as though it has a caron, i.e. a "ch" sound, he says it "Ka-leen-a" as almost everyone I have heard say it. The only people I have ever heard say it "Cha-leen-a" are the ESPN commentators who are notoriously poor at pronouncing names and moreover identifying the correct players. If someone could provide some clarification on this it'd be much appreciated. I think Jason was born in Melbourne and moved to Sydney as a child when his Dad got a job at Sydney United. Unfortunately a lot of sites out there simply refer back to Wikipedia about this info! Will try to check but if anyone knows for sure...? 125.63.139.142 08:11, 24 June 2006 (UTC) Found correct info! Born in Melbourne but grew up in Sydney. Will change it now. 125.63.139.142 12:21, 30 July 2006 (UTC) The correct pronounciation of his name is "Choo-lee-na". His father Branko was born in small south-croatian town of Pridraga.Reply

The correct pronunciation is how he says it. I'm restoring the K pronunciation; please comment here if it needs changing. kwami (talk) 18:00, 30 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Position

edit

Jason Culina is not only a midfielder but he also plays Right Back, he has done so for both International and Club level, his position should be Midfielder and Right Back (or just Side Back if you prefer) I added Right Back to his profile!
