Not Just "Some blogger," but also not the first to "professionally pursue his weblog."
editThe complaints about prominent bloggers being listed in Wiki are tiresome. It is borderline comical that an online encyclopedia project like Wiki would foster movements to not include prominent online publishers like Kottke (or Glenn Reynolds, etc.).
That said, I believe the section of the article beginning "This made him the first person to "professionally" pursue his weblog without relying on advertising or corporate sponsorship..." is totally inaccurate. Kottke is NOT the first person to go full time without using advertising or corporate sponsorship. In fact, there are an untold number of bloggers who fall into this category, and many prior to February of 2005. Those Paypal buttons have been working hard all the way back to 2001 and earlier. Sure, Kottke has garnered a lot of media attention for his decision, but he is in no way the first. [DJ] 12:59, Nov 07, 2005 (UTC).

Sorry for being late..but count my vote for delete. Him and his blog are insignificant for 99% of Wikipedia users - R.
VfD...with a fresher audience.
editSome blogger. Writes mostly on NYC; Claims designed a font; Some tech stuff ripped off from sites like Endgadget, slashdot etc. I'm from country side Pennsylvania and like most Wikipedia readers, I believe this isn't worth mentioning here. Let's do VfD poll again. VfD polls should be conducted every three months atleast.
- The result will be the same. When it comes to blogging, Jason Kottke is one of the most well known out there. This wikipedia article is a well-written, encyclopedic entry. There's no reason to delete it. And please, sign comments using the standard method. ElfWord 00:54, 19 October 2005 (UTC)
Wikipedia can become a cesspool for BLOGGER bios

editCompare this entry with that of Tareq Salahi of the famous White House dinner crashing incident. Most of the excuses offered for this article to be 'Kept' (such as large number of Google Hits, Coverage by Newsweek etc) is not accepted in that entry's talk page.
How does this entry still remain in Wikipedia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dministrator (talk • contribs) 01:13, 29 November 2009 (UTC)
