Article Cleanup

edit
  • I am working on a major rewrite of this article. It is overly extensive, verbose and repetitive. I managed to take edit it down a bit, but this is a work in progress. The first step was an overall rewrite and editing of the article to cut the length, excessive info and other things. The second step is sourcing the article and editing by section. I have the first two sections done (the lead in and brief character history). I encourage everyone to help. Also, does anyone have any pcitures to add?--Charleenmerced Talk 16:54, 14 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • For the love of all that is holy, will someone please clean this article up? If not, I will do it & most of my clean up will include heavy editing of the entire Elizabeth/Jason section (read deletion of much of it). Someone already created an Elizabeth/Jason article, so this information does not need to repeated twice & particularly not in such ridiculous detail. morgannia (talk) 06:53, 13 December 2007 (UTC) morganniaReply
  • I am with all of those wanting a massive clean up of this article. Not only is the information repetitive and overbearing, but the grammar and wording is horrible. I am sure there are other ways to describe a relationship than to say that "they accepted each other for who they were." That phrase is in the article like ten times. Lennoncorleone (talk) 07:21, 30 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
  • I worked on the Jason/Elizabeth section. I edited it down to the important information and took out the rest. Like has already been stated above there is a separate Liason page so the detailed history isn't necessary on the Jason Morgan page. I rearranged the outline part also, to separate Jason/Courtney and Jason/Sam from the Becoming Jason Morgan part. The other sections probably need to be shortened as well, each relationship is probably a bit too in depth. --Barrett351 (talk) 06:10, 20 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
  • I shortened up the Jason/Sam section. Like the Liason part I worked on, I only put in the main events in the JaSam relationship. The Jason Morgan article is so long that already and I figured that every detail doesn't need to be listed.--Barrett351 (talk) 02:15, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Spoilers

edit

I realize it's tempting, but please do not add spoiler (advance) information to Wikipedia pages, unless you can link to a published source which verifies that information, per Wikipedia:Verifiability. Also, even if you have spoiler information from a published source, please tag it with the {{spoiler}} tag, so that those of our readers who do not want to read it, have some warning. Thanks, Elonka 17:02, 7 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

As a reminder: When there is information in a Wikipedia article that has not yet been announced on the show, it should be tagged with {{spoiler}} templates. See WP:SPOILER. --Elonka 08:06, 13 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Plot

edit

Wikipedia is not the place for plot summaries, so can somebody who knows about this person please cut down the plot summaries? Corpx 07:30, 4 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Awards?

edit

Do awards for the actor belong in the description of the character? Strikes me as misplaced, but not enough to unilaterally remove them. --JohnRDaily 00:33, 5 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

spoilers and citations

edit

as of today (july 11, 08) almost all of the info from the last two paragraphs of the recent storylines section for jason's character has not happened, yet. if this information is in fact true, it should have a spoiler warning. also it should be cited. i am curious to know if it is valid information from a secure source. if everyone could please continue to use the proper citations and spoiler warnings that would be great. and if anyone knows what cite this information was gathered from, i would love to know about it. thanks! 146.145.111.114 22:16, 11 July 2007 (UTC)jesmac13Reply

If you see information in the article which is from episodes that have not yet aired, and are not linked to a published source which verifies the info, feel free to delete it on the spot. :) --Elonka 07:11, 12 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

removed material unsupported by sources.

edit

I emoved a lot of material that was unsourced as per WP:BLP. You can find it at Talk:Jason Morgan/Sandbox, if any one wants to source it and re-add to the article. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 03:52, 24 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

No, terrible job. You removed all of the article minus one paragraph. And by the way, it certainly was not unsourced as per WP:BLP. In case you do not know, WP:BLP stands for Biographies of Living Persons. Jason Morgan is a fictional character, not a living person. Way to go! Jesmac13

I agree with Jesmac13. Most of the information that were on this page were written and sourced from when it aired. I demand that this page should be put back the way it was before. I don't even know the relationships of Jason Morgan because you took that out. PUT IT BACK.

  • I do not think ≈ jossi ≈or Corpx did anything wrong. This article was in dire need of a clean up. The plot section was getting ridiculously long and redundant, and was no way in the summary style we're supposed to put it in.

Fair use rationale for Image:SonnyandJason.jpg

Image:SonnyandJason.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Birth Name vs. Former Name

edit

I changed the order of his name at birth and his name when the Q's took him. It read "né Jason Moore, formerly Jason Quartermaine" which I felt was a bit confusing because it says he was born Moore, but "formerly" following this seems to imply he was a Q before being a Moore - which is untrue as well as impossible since Moore was the birth name. So I just reversed the order. If this doesn't make sense to anyone but me...you're welcome to say so. I couldn't explain it in the editing explanation space, so I did so here. Correctone (talk) 00:41, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Birthday and Age

edit

Jason's birthday and age will never match. Please do not change either (except of course the age each January if someone else has not already done so). His birthday was in 1982, but the character was SORASed into a teenager in 1991. He graduated (and it was talked about onscreen) in 1993. He was probably 18, so that means he is 34 now. Née VS. né

edit

I have corrected this so many times, and it is honestly getting old. No one seems to look for the reason it is being changed back...

Please see this page to understand why is the correct form to use on this MALE CHARACTER's page. Thank you. Correctone (talk) 17:41, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Quartermaine

edit

I'm not following why Quartermaine is often removed from the lead, can someone explain? It was the character's name for a good chunk of time and with characters living in a perpetual present state, if you were to turn on an old episode that would be his name... seems just as important as a woman's maiden name in my opinion instead of only being under "alias". I'd like to put it back. Kelly Marie 0812 (talk) 01:13, 14 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

Miller Did Not Play Jason

edit

I think Miller should be removed from the infobox (but kept in the casting section) as he did not play Jason Morgan - he played his twin brother, Drew, who believed he was Jason. Although some could argue that everyone thought he was Jason, the same could be said when everyone thought John Black (Days Of Our Lives) was Roman Brady. Miller in the end did not play Jason - he played Drew. However, I think the same information should be kept in the casting section, but stating that Miller played Jason from 2014 to 2017 is wrong. DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 22:30, 30 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Wrong; he did—per cited materials and scripts—play Jason Morgan until his casting was retconned via story. From 2014 to 2017 he portrayed Jason, until Burton returned and his casting was retconned to shift the story. It is the same case as Todd Manning on One Life to Live, where Trevor St. John portrayed Todd until Roger Howarth returned, and St. John's casting was retconned. It is the same, exact situation. That is why Miller is still listed as portraying Jason, because, for all intents and purposes, he did portray Jason Morgan for three years. livelikemusic (TALK!) 12:52, 1 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
