I've seen this chracter's name given as "Jason White" and as "Jason Lane," but the latter version only here on Wikipedia in another entry. Does he have an actual last name in the movie credits?

How can you prove this, fictionally speaking? The scene cuts away before the piano began moving, then shows it flying toward Bruno. At no time was Jason shown pushing it, outright. What I would like to know is how Jason had Supermans powers when Louis and Clark only got down and dirty when Clark become Mortal. Please, don't give me that cut away crap, not only was the Piano with out wheels, and possible couldn't move on its own, but the fact that the DVD Chapater reads "Jason's Gift" for that scene alone. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.51.41.72 (talk) 06:59, 29 December 2006 (UTC).

It is clear that Jason shoved the piano. Because it doesn't show Jason actually pushing it, it isn't a matter of speculation that he did it. I did however, find the article speculative when it claimed that Jason "sensed" Superman in the water. Though there were two adults who were searching the water for Superman, Jason was the one to first spot him. However, when he pointed out where he was the others were able to see him. This seems to me to be supersight rather than supersensation.

I also personally got the impression that Jason realizes Clark Kent's identity when he drops his glasses. But that's not exactly a "super power". It takes a willing suspension of disbelief to buy into the notion that nobody realizes that Clark is Superman (or dismiss it soon after they do when he fails to act as they expect as in Superman II or when he does something goofy as when Richard begins to piece it together.)

How do we know Jason wasn't weekened by Kryptonite? If I remember from the movie Jason was scared of the Kryptonite and he had some sort of reaction that caused Lex Luthor to ask who his father was.

I didn't get a feeling that Jason was affected in anyway by the Kryptonite. So this seems to be .... what's the word.... "speculative!"

Nad's small edits

I removed the line which said Superman woke up after Jason kissed him on the forhead.Superman was clearly unconsious even right after Jason kissed him. Superman woke up much after Lois and Jason left the hospital.

But I made an addition to the part of Lois whispering in his ear and tied it up with how Superman knows of Jason being his son and visiting him. If anyone wants to edit them,they should be looked at carefully first.Nadirali 08:10, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

I think it's safe to conclude that Jason is Superman's son and that he has some powers. This is confirmed by the final scene of the movie where it's revealed that Superman believes Jason to be his son. It may be that in a sequel it will be revealed that Jason possesses no superpowers and that he's not Superman's son. It seems to me that up until Jason pushes the piano, that Lois believes Richard to be the boy's father. Earlier she says that though "fragile" he'll grow up big and strong like his father, referring to Richard. Given her bitterness toward Superman at that point, it seems unlikely she would make a statement if she believed Jason was Superman's biological father. The piano incident could be explained as a rush of adrenalin seeing his mother in mortal danger

Now this all could be a false lead (such as in Star Wars when Obi Wan Kanobe tells Luke that Darth Vader betrayed and killed his father), but it isn't speculative to arrive at a conclusion an entire movie is leading you to reach. SonPraises (talk) (contributions) 04:04, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Timeline Inconsistency

There seems to be an inconsistency with the timeline. We know that Superman has been gone five years, and presumably Lois Lane was not noticeably pregnant when he was left. But when Clark Kent returns, it's revealed by Richard that Jason received an A in Science but a D in Gym. If Jason were 5 years old, he'd be in kindergarten, but he seems to be in one of the early elementary grades. Kindergarten students don't normally receive letter grades.

He can also play the piano well (for a novice) which also points to an older age.

Drawing a long bow

Jason had nothing to do with the seaplane pulling out of its dive. A facial shot of Jason right after the plane pulls up suggets nothing except that the kid was in the plane. Wikipedia is for facts, not supposition. Darcyj 06:01, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
