Donating an eye to Sammy Davis Jr.?
editUnder the heading "Personal life", the 6th paragraph begins "When his friend Sammy Davis Jr. lost an eye in an accident and was in danger of losing the other, Chandler offered to give Davis one of his own eyes." As a straightforward offer, this cannot be taken seriously. As of 2024, "eye transplant surgery" does not exist, and it certainly didn't exist in the 1950s or early-1960s. If this anecdote is actually worth including in the article, it should be couched to make it clear that it was a figure of speech rather than a legitimate offer.
