Middle name

Homosexuals

Thank you MIS= in the 21st century. She did not volunteer her private views, they were pried out of her and then she was taken to task when they turned out to be something other than the answer homosexuals were looking for, with such typical vehemence that she was practically forced to recant her remarks just to stay in the business. This used to be America where people were allowed to have their own opinion. To the average American who is not as jaded and out of touch as Hollywood is, this episode shows clearly who the intolerant ones really are. Actually, many homosexuals (myself included) praised her for accepting homosexuality as no more a 'sin' to the Christian mindset than any other sin. Indeed, those remarks apparently came shortly after she received the aforementioned browbeating in the homosexual media. Typical sample:

...etc... Note, the not-so-subtle threats made against her career throughout this page, as if these are her only fans who matter, while the vast majority of Americans who feel differently, do not. We only get to make our voice heard on election days. Cleanup

This page needs cleanup and sorting. For example, the "Background" section has current events such news about her "Vogue" cover. This should be in a separate section. DELETED edit on deaths in family. I know there are Wikipedia geeks who become excited at the thought of being the first to report something new, but this is news, and belongs at Wikinews until the investigations are complete. Wikipedia articles should not be used as gossip columns for current events because they only lead to multiple changes within the first few days because of the conflicting stories trickling in from the media outlets. Just to add to my comment, I remind Dryamaka to remain civil, and to end the harsh hostility. Second, to add to the comment above, the current events banner even says "Information may change rapidly as the event progresses." It is a given that the info will probably change. Calling wikipedia users "Wiki geeks" who "orgasm" at the thought of being the first to report something is childish, and a little sad. Despite what you may think, not everyone here is trying to enter a popularity contest. If the information is sketchy, so be it. Add it, cite it, and add the banner saying that the information may change as more details are announced. That should alert the normal Wikipedia reader to take the information with a grain of salt, until more information is released. CarpetCrawler (talk) 01:38, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

Wikinews claims that Jennifer's sister Julia (mother of the missing boy) has also been conspicuously absent since she finished working her shift as a bus driver. Although the specific details are a news event and are subject to change based on new reported information, I would be willing to bet the family jewels that even when the investigation is complete, her dead family members will remain dead. Per WP:NPF, only material relevant to his notability should be included in the article and information that is irrelevant to the subject's notability should be omitted. Material that may adversely affect a person's reputation should be treated with special care. Brother and mother - Donerson or Hudson?

Some sources report the two murder victims as both having had the surname Hudson; others claim they were both Donerson; others that one was Donerson, the other Hudson. This article currently states the brother was Hudson. The mother is stated as Hudson in the early life subsection, but Donerson in the family deaths subsection; but there is no indication of why the mother's surname is stated as different in one place in the article to the other. The most common explanation for a woman changing her surname is her marriage. However, seeing as her father was not named Donerson or Hudson, and there is no mention in the article of the mother having married, the different surnames are unexplained in the article. From the sources in the article, none of them state her last name is Hudson. If you could direct me to a reliable source that said her last name is Hudson, then we might have more of an issue. Same with the brother, only with the surname Hudson. The problem I'm seeing is the spelling of her surname; two sources spell it Donnerson, the other three spell it as Donerson (difference by an n). As I stated, the article first states the mother's surname, when Jennifer was born, was Hudson. The article later states that the mother's surname, at death, was Donerson. The article does not mention, at any point, why the mother's surname changed. Does anyone know? If the mother married, that should be in the article - it is relevant to a person's life, and their biography, that, in her lifetime, her mother married someone other than her father. I found one source that names Hudson's mother as Darnell Hudson Donnerson (albeit in the caption and not the article itself). I'm guessing she remarried (and divorced) at some point and kept her married name. I'll also venture a guess and say that in the coming days and weeks, more information about the victims lives will be released and we might have an answer then. I do agree that any important information about their lives should be included if possible. As for the spelling, I'm seeing it spelled both way from all kinds of reliable sources so I have no idea which is actually correct. Pinkadelica ^{Say it...} 04:10, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

In instances where a person's name changes, the reason should be mentioned. The mother's surname change has not been explained; the most likely explanation is that she married a Mr. Don(n)erson, but nothing in the article actually states that she did. If, at some point during Jennifer's life, her mother remarried, that is relevant to the biography, as having a stepfather is a significant aspect of a person's life. If the mother did remarry, did the parents divorce, or did they remain married until the fathers' death, and the mother reamarried after that? If the mother did remarry, was she still married to the more recent husband when she died? Werdnawerdna (talk) 10:53, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

You're leaving out the very salient point that Jennifer Hudson wasn't given her father's last name. There are other reasons why the names weren't Hudson when Jennifer and siblings were born besides divorce. Perhaps they weren't married when the children were born and mom only married someone else later. That does happen. That there isn't anything published in which to refer fairly renders the point moot. We can only write from that which has been published and in the scope of family dynamics now, it isn't a failure in the article. It's kind of beside the point. Funeral service dates need correction- references did not appear in previous submission

I am new to this, so please forgive this duplication.

My previous talk submission on this topic seems to have an error in the references not clicking through to the pages on the web-

Funeral services for the victims were on November 3, while a private service was held at Chicago's South Side Apostolic Church of God on November 10.[19]

A public memorial service was held at Pleasant Gift Memorial Baptist Church where singer/actress Jennifer Hudson grew up, on Sunday, November 2, 2008.

The service, hosted by the Hudson family cousins, was by invitation only. Friends, family and schoolmates of 7-year-old Julian King, remembered the murder victims with anecdotes and personal stories. The doors were opened afterward for the family to receive condolences from the public, who had lined the street outside the church. Grammy noms?

Jennifer's page lists her with four nominations, but she only received three herself. "Spotlight" is nominated for Best R&B Song, which is a songwriters' award. Picture and "other projects"

for quite some time the picture of her singing was the default. them someone changed it to the picture of her holding the oscar, which does not show her face very well. i tried to revert that edit but it was quickly undone. also, why mention the specific day that she filmed "Sex and the city" and "the secret lives of bees" as well as mentioning the exact date they opened, when instead you could discuss the plot or maybe even the $415 million box-office success of the film?
