Why?
I don't understand why they put a "clean up" header to the article. In my opinion it is a well organized text and contains everything possible in it. With respect, Deliogul 19:17, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Giving References or Sources
I gave some proof of the chart positions in Australia, bu someone keeps on getting rid of them. Lillygirl 13:45, 24 June 2006.
Wrong Information
There is a Position of #5 for Lets Get Loud in the Uk although it wasnt released in the UK Is it for somewhere else? I have removed it from the UK section. Mysticmartin 14:34, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
- For the album sales, the sources I put up were from Sony Music UK. These new sources are incorrect and prove unreliable, seeing it was put up by some random person at this website. I will put the reliable sources and intend to keep it like that.
United World Chart!!!! we need to put it!
I tried but i didnt manage to place all the UWC peeks of JLO'S singles. it showed me weird stuff. The UWC was left and all the peeks were underneath the title album!!! Some help here please!!!
The rewrite
This article went through a big rewrite.[1] It looks better, but by removing the sources to a global, nearly useless citation, the article is less verifiable and more difficult to check for vandalism. Gimmetrow 04:41, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
- This is about the Sony BMG link, I checked it out again and the main page was shown. Therefore, you have to select Jennifer Lopez in the artists section to be able to see her biography. This is what it says. Look at this! Kraft. (talk) 07:15, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
- For whatever reason, the link here won't go to the page on the Sony site which contains that info. But fine, it's there somewhere. What about mediatraffic.de? Gimmetrow 08:46, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Does Jennifer's song "Baila" charted on any official chart? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.45.111.67 (talk) 08:26, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
change jlo's album sales
{{editsemiprotected}}
94.65.175.247 (talk) 10:54, 5 April 2010 (UTC)i just want to say that jlo's albums stand up to 48 million albums and not to 25. according to many interviews and many sites,f.e http://www.zimbio.com/Jennifer+Lopez+Gossip+and+Pictures/articles/mciZlRST1-5/Jennifer+Lopez+Box+office+standing+record,http://hiphop.popcrunch.com/jennifer-lopez-dropped-from-sony-records/ and many others 94.65.175.247 (talk) 11:23, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
Not done: Welcome. The two sites your referenced do not appear to be reliable sources and the current number is well supported by two reliable sources. Thanks, Celestra (talk) 16:36, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
Reliable sources that i found the real album sales are:http://www.weblo.com/celebrity/Singer_Musician/Jennifer_Lopez/400065/ , http://www.buzzle.com/articles/jennifer-lopez-biography.html , these sites are absolutely reliable . Also, at Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest , when she performed loboutins single ,Ryan Seacrest said that she sold over 48 million albums!you can see it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbpE6n6xids&feature=related. Τhe number 25 is absolutely wrong. first two albums(on the 6,Jlo) did 20 million copies altogether.94.65.158.198 (talk) 19:34, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
- Those don't seem reliable either. Try industry sites instead of fan sites. Business people tend to be very accurate about numbers; it's what they do. Celestra (talk) 22:26, 5 April 2010 (UTC)
http://www.weblo.com/celebrity/Singer_Musician/Jennifer_Lopez/400065/ ,this site is not a fan site , it's an official and reliable site about music and not only. Every number in this site is true !Also, before somedays, wikipedia had wrote that jlo's sales stands up to 48 million copies and now why 25, i don't understand.every site that i am in writes 48 million copies94.65.148.46 (talk) 10:35, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- Sony Music states her album sales at 25 million. All those other sites you've mentioned don't hold a candle to sonymusic.co.uk when it comes to WP:RS, and moreso, when it comes to official album sales - especially Jennifer Lopez' sales, based on the fact Sony is the parent company of Epic, her record label of over 10 years. Percxyz (Call me Percy, it's easier) 11:06, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
- And concerning that site, go to http://www.weblo.com/celebrity/ and see that anyone can "Register Your Celebrity Fan Site Now!" Thanks, Celestra (talk) 19:30, 6 April 2010 (UTC)
OFFICIAL SALES
The J.Lo's official albums sales stand up to 55 MILLION COPIES, according to MTV!The source which mentions that sales are 25 million,is closed.http://www.mtv.es/clubmtv/jennifer-lopez/posts87.202.82.173 (talk) 21:39, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
OFFICIAL SALES
I would like to suggest you to change J.LO'S ALBUM SALES because these are fake.I do not understand the reason why you don't change them.We have many official sources which report that the real sales are 48 or 50 MILLION ALBUMS!On wikipedia, the informations about somoene or something must be true and reliable, and not incorrect and unreliable. The sony music site doesn't exist anymore,so you do not have a reference! So,change them. OFFICIAL SOURCES WHICH MENTION THAT THE ALBUM SALES ARE 48 OR 50,ARE:http://posting.mtv.es/musica/artistas/jennifer-lopez/#bio , http://www.rollingstone.com/music/artists/jennifer-lopez/news/artists/8828/61635/61651 87.202.71.111 (talk) 12:18, 15 July 2010 (UTC) , http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news.aspx?id=20100218nbc0187.202.71.111 (talk) 12:23, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- It's quite obvious that the 50 million tossed about for album sales is just a promotional figure to make Lopez's past success more impressive than it's been, this is normally done by artists' record companies to boost the sales of an upcoming material. Surely, Lopez has not managed to sell another 25 million albums within a period of just couple of years after the release of Brave which never achieved much success. I'd say we ignore the claim of 50 million in albums sales, if there is a source claiming 50 million records (meaning albums, singles, videos combined), that might be somewhat logical, but simply 50 million in album sales, it should not be used as it's outright inflated.--Harout72 (talk) 15:18, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
All these are just a theory!Nothing sure, nothing reliable, only words!Jlo's carrer is succesful and none can tell the opposite!the promotional figure that you're claimed is sth absurd, the artist cannot be hide from the past, the sales is sth clear!you say that this is normally done by artists' record companies to boost the sales of an upcoming material, this is absolutely wrong, crazy and not normally, just doesn't happen(the platinums which received can prove that the sales are 50 and not 25)!Just simply,if you plus the albums sales from 'on the six' to 'brave',the result is much bigger than 25!So, you can see that all you say and write is fake and wrong!Changing the album sales, without having a reliable source and because of some thoughts,is sth illegal and contrary to the rules of wikipedia! So, please change them based on reliable sources, and not on thoughts and theories!87.202.66.34 (talk) 11:18, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- Well, it looks like I have to provide you sources which actually support my claim of Record Companies Inflating Figures. Read the article titled A Former Music Executive under NewsLine section, and then read the article titled Troubles in Store, both articles indicate how record companies inflate sales figures for different purposes.
- I am glad you mentioned Lopez's certifications that she's gathered throughout her career. Well, I went over her certified sales just for you, which hopefully will convince you that her actual sales cannot come anywhere close to 50 million, and I mean her sales of Albums, Singles, Videos combined. Below I am posting Lopez's certified sales which I found in certification databases.
- US certified sales: 11 million albums, 1.6 million Singles, 400,000 Videos
- UK certified sales: 1,060,000 Albums, 200,000 Singles
- German certified sales: 700,000 Albums, 250,000 Singles, 25,000 Videos
- French certified sales: 1 million Albums, 575,000 million Singles
- Canadian certified sales: 1 million Albums
- Australian certified sales: 245,000 Albums, 805,000 Singles, 7,500 videos
- Dutch certified sales: 260,000 Albums, 40,000 Singles
- Brazilian certified sales: 100,000 Albums
- Swedish certified sales: 70,000 Albums, 15,000 Singles
- Argentinean certified sales: 50,000 Albums
- Finnish certified sales: 39,594
- Norwegian certified sales: 20,000 Albums, 20,000 Singles
- Swiss certified sales: 220,000 Albums, 70,000 Singles
- Austrian certified sales: 65,000 Albums
- I also looked at the entire European Continent's certifications. Since some countries in Europe don't offer a certification database, I subtracted the figures that I have already found in each available market's database from the figures I found in IFPI's (Europe) database in order to avoid double counting. For On the 6, after subtracting the figures, there is 275,000 units remaining. For J.Lo after subtractions, there is 940,000 remaining.
- As one can see, when looking at Lopez's certified album sales, there is only 17 million certified album-units (from the available markets above which should represent at least 80-90% of global markets), this could never reach anywhere close to 30 million in actual sales, let alone 50 million. Lopez's certified singles make up 3.6 million, and even this combined with albums sales would never pass the 30-35 million in actual sales. --Harout72 (talk) 03:35, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
- I too jave tried explaining to many users. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 18:32, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- I don't understand what you guys aren't seeing. Her certified record sales in total equal 20.6 million throughout the world. Even if you want to say certifications equal only half of actual sales (which they equal in reality probably around 65-70%) then we would have 41 million, and that would be doubling it. How can you expect to almost triple the certification amount to almost 60 million? That would mean that Mariah and Celine both sold over 400+ million records worldwide (if we tripled available certifications for them). As I said, the fair thing is to have the idea that certifications equal a good 65%+ of actual sales. If you found a source saying 35-40 million records I would agree to that, but not 50 or 55.--PeterGriffin • Talk2Me 19:15, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hey me and Harout are in agreement that 50m is not possible. Yet a user and several IPs are hell-bent on adding it. Peter take a look at the messages i've been recieving on my talk page and the messages I've left in return to users question JLOs sales. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 19:20, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- I get that Unique, I saw the message, I'm just trying to make the point even clearer. Anyway, I believe this discussion is finished.--PeterGriffin • Talk2Me 19:27, 28 September 2010 (UTC)

German Chart-Position
"I'm glad" charted in the German Single Charts on the 44th spot but it's under NZ. I don't know if that song also charted on the 44th spot in NZ or if that spot was supposed to be in the GER line.--58.62.42.237 (talk) 08:45, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
