The article currently says "Along with George Bell (LF) and Lloyd Moseby (CF), Barfield starred in what many analysts considered the best all-around outfield of the 1980s." For all I know, this assertion may be true, but it's both uncited and a bit vague (with regard to what is meant by "best all-around"). I'd imagine many analysts would also remember the Red Sox' outfield combo of Jim Rice, Tony Armas and Dwight Evans, who were comparable defensively and probably better offensively. Without a citation, the statement kinda looks like puffery. [As a Yankees fan, btw, I have no vested interest in the debate as to the best outfield in the '80's - the Yanks sure didn't have it...but then again he had the strongest arm in mlb history]
