editSome mention should be made of the action figure, I used to have one :) I also recall that there was a tie in with Jungle Oats where it was advertised by Jet Jungle Htaccess 11:29, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
- Hey where did you get the action figure, I didn't have one :(( I now feel that my childhood was deficient :(( ;) Can't remember the details about the Jungle Oats they were definitely a sponsor though. Kuratowski's Ghost 11:46, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
- No idea where it came from, what were the names of toystore names in 70's South Africa? I believe it is still in the cellar at my parents house, next time I'm there I will take a picture and put it up on mediawiki Htaccess 11:21, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
Influences
editIf Jet Jungle did in fact start during the mid-sixties, and we only have the Mego Museum to thank for this information, then there is some evidence to suggest the series influenced the creation of Hanna & Barbara's Jonny Quest, and especially the character Rodger "Race" Maddon, who shares many of Jet's features, such as White Hair, black belt and safari adventures. Perhaps they two characters are one and the same, having both been put under the spell of the Star Master?Ethnopunk (talk) 12:13, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
The Creator Speaks
editI have an interview with Jet Jungle creator Brian O'Shaughnessy done on microcassette about a year to two before he passed away. The interview has never been transcribed, and I no longer have a working dictaphone able to play the cassette. If anybody out there could perhaps assist me, we could have some words from the originator of the Jet Jungle myth.Ethnopunk (talk) 12:16, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Incomplete list of Radio and Comic episodes
editSince so little has been done to preserve the legacy of Brian O'Shaughnessy and his creation, Jet Jungle, there exists no readily available list of radio and comic episodes. No doubt, over twenty years, there must have been more than one or two of them.Ethnopunk (talk) 13:37, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
