Consolidate with Battle of Cieneguilla article
editI suggest that this article is consolidated with the Battle of Cieneguilla article - since the material is largely about that battle. I further suggest expanding both articles to provide a bit more insight into why the battle began (i.e., it was about more than stealing of cattle. (such as information in the history section of Jicarilla Apache I am happy to do that. Thoughts anyone?--CaroleHenson (talk) 23:51, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- I am opposed to consolidation, rather think that this article should be expanded with material such as this [1]. Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 01:46, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
- Yep, we chatted about that earlier - I posted the message here at the same time I put a message on your talk page. Sounds good to me.--CaroleHenson (talk) 03:57, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
- I was just trying to increase my odds of someone responding, which you so graciously did pretty quickly. Thanks!!!!--CaroleHenson (talk) 04:00, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Image placement
editI'm guessing there are different factors that affect how the images appear to a given person: - when I moved the image it appeared to cover up text for some others - the current placement goes over part of the references info for me.
I tried moving it to the right under the infobox. Does that work?--CaroleHenson (talk) 17:33, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Additions and Subtractions
editIt appears to me that an addition needs to be made to this article. How about adding the battle that occurred around July 4th of 1854 near Fishers Peak in CO. This band of Jicarillas was possibly the same band that the army had fought with near Ojo Caliente, which is thought to be the same band that fought at the battle of Cieneguilla. Also lets subtract Texas from the location, since none of these events took place within 100 miles of that State's border with New Mexico. Finally, a source is cited as "Carver", which should probably be "Carter".\Gordontaos (talk) 15:25, 15 August 2014 (UTC) I also think that to say that an attack was launched into "Apacheria" is confusing and deceptive, although it certainly sounds cool. Apacheria was an extremely large area that covered at least portions of 4 states. I believe that its akin to saying that the Texans launched an attack into Texas. The events discussed here all occurred within 10 or so miles of established settlements in North Central New Mexico. Gordontaos (talk) 16:33, 15 August 2014 (UTC)
