Time of writing
editThe article states that Jill was written while he was an undergraduate, but in his essay Single-handed and Untrained, which details the time he was at Wellington, he mentions working on the novel there, that is after leaving uni. While he did begin it at uni., it is my understanding that he didn't finish it until after uni. (he also mentions, in the introduction to Jill, that he began the novel in the autumn of 1943 (I assume it's this year, as it seems from the narrative to be his last year at uni.) and took a year or so to write. Perhaps the bit about being an undergraduate should be left out, or changed somewhat?--Hinakana (talk) 23:53, 11 August 2008 (UTC)
