Jim's playing

Okay hold on a minute. It says that Billy Gould (bass player) performed all of Jim's guitar parts except for "Jizzlobber" on Angel Dust. There is absolutely no verifiable proof of this. However, it is fairly understood that the guitar parts Jim initially came up with for the record was not what the rest had in mind. Billy probably did come up with some of the guitar parts, but to what extend, and if he actually performed them himself instead of Jim, is unknown.

My mistake, it was Bill.

Proof is a hard word to use in this context, seeing as how noone who edits Wikipedia was in the recording room. What i used for the basis of my statement was fnm.com, Faith No More's official website. Probably should have cited it....Either way, most of the recordings you hear on the album, if the bands official website is to be trusted, are Bill Gould, since Martin was almost non-existant at the recording sessions.

First of all, although I guess FNM.com is sort of "endorsed" by the group, (i.e. they haven't taken to law to get it shut down) it can't really be called an official site. Now, in regards to Jim Martin not _playing_ anything on the album, here is what the FAQ from FNM.com says:

"Bill Gould says "To make a long story short-- Jim wrote very few of the parts on Angel Dust. In fact, the tension and difficulty due to his lack of contribution on that album had a lot to do with his eventual ouster. Having said that, I'd rather not go song by song through who wrote what. For the record I'm happy to leave it that all of the songs on Angel Dust were FNM songs, meaning, written by all of the members equally, including Jim like the credits say."

So, from what I can gather from that comment by Billy, is that Martin did not write the majority of the guitar parts, but this does not mean that he didn't play on the album.

Perhaps Martin's page should instead reflect the ambiguity

Rewrite

I think this page needs a serious rewrite. Solo career

"His first and only solo album to date is entitled Milk and Blood, on which he covers his former band's song "Surprise! You're Dead", from The Real Thing." He covers? He wrote that before Faith No More was even a band. I think this needs to be rephrased

Contradictory

"Following the release of Angel Dust, Martin left the group for reasons that remain unknown."

"The band fired Martin by fax on November 30, 1993, after the band had not progressed as they would have liked in rehearsals and songwriting."
