Romantic possibilities
There's no need to remove so many details the Romantic Possibilities section. The reason those details are there are to provide instances that support the speculated romances. Removing those details just leaves the speculation alone and not the reasoning for them. King Zeal
- Excpet there's no "Reasoning" to speak of. Jin isn't interested in anybody, Ling might be crushing on him, Hwoarang is his rival, Asuka's ending seems to be for comical purposes. There's no way of formulating these reasons that doesn't sound ridiculously bogus and ad-hoc (which, frankly speaking, they are; it being yet another manifestation of the shipping phenomenon where people pair up characters and then start looking around for justification, and all).
- P.S. Sorry for reverting back before replying to you, I only found out you commented here after reverting. If you revert back I won't revert again until we reach some sort of agreement. --AceMyth 15:27, July 31, 2005 (UTC)
- Yeah, I agree. And I'm sorry for doing the same.
- Of course, this is all guess work. As are a lot of things in Tekken to begin with. This is actually not my original speculation. These are all things that are a general consensus on videogame message boards everywhere based on dialogue within the game. If you want to completely eliminate any guesswork whatsoever, we might as well delete the entire Devil Gene entry, too. However, I feel that it would at LEAST be beneficial if the speculated shipping is included with the scenes in the game that support them. Especially in the case of Ling Xiaoyu, as her crush on Jin has been shown WITHIN the game numerous times, but I'd feel better describing the incidents in question.
- Also, that aside, why did you remove the areas that were included to show proof of Jin helping his acquaintances in the "Analysis" section? Again, that's not speculation. It's in the game.
- 1. I'd agree about the "general fan consensus" thing, but there seems to be a growing consensus that qualifying speculation with "fans speculate" does not excuse it from being speculation unless /strongly/ backed up with canon (due to the notoriety of large groups of hardcore fans easily ending up believing weird theories... And I'm not entirely convinced this isn't an instance of that). I'd stay away from trying to canonically justify Jin/Julia or Jin/Hwoarang beyond their clearly typical Het and Slash fodder roots (respectively). The one-sided existence of Jin/Ling which is in the game could be slightly elaborated upon, and I suppose you could also mention the whole sordid Asuka incident, though.
- 2. The Devil Gene theories are Fans using hints to fill in the blanks. Jin/Hwoarang is girls, well, using the Jin to fill in the Hwoarang. This sort of difference is what I meant by "/strongly/ backed up with canon".
- 3. The taking down of the parts evidencing Jin caring about Ling and Hwoarang was not out of principle, I just sort of didn't bother to fit them in, figuring that a general statement to cover them would do. If you want to elaborate then go ahead, again, it's in the game, not speculation. --AceMyth 16:07, July 31, 2005 (UTC)
- That's fair. If you're okay with it, then, I'll copy just a few details about Jin/Xiaoyu and Jin/Asuka. Jin/Bob and whatever else can be simply mentioned as you did. King Zeal
- Go ahead. --AceMyth 17:19, July 31, 2005 (UTC)

This is proof that Jun defeated Devil. Now please stop editing the page.
Kanji
I added the Jin's name in Japanese Kanji and a link to help on viewing Japanese (like on the Jun Kazama page).
This article is currently a testbed for a unified computer/video game character infobox, {{General CVG character}}. It uses a series-specific subbox, {{Tekken character}}.
Input on this infobox would be appreciated; note that the addition of things that would be obvious to readers unfamiliar with Tekken (such as what series is involved) is intentional. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 12:48, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- Ugh. The red and black look absolutely horrid against the infobox. The blue and black lining convey a technical depiction, something I wouldn't associate with these articles at all. Oppose, currently. Unsightly design in this instance. -ZeroTalk 16:17, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- The blue signifies the associated Wikiproject (instead of having dozens of different infoboxes with arbitrarily different appearances, arrangement, and information), and this isn't a vote. Give me something actionable and I'll fix it, though. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 16:29, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- Hold your breath! I detist the voting process. I'm not going to remove it, although I strongly believe it to be the most horrid design on an character article. I would be fine with a simplistic white template, with lack of line division. -ZeroTalk 16:45, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- I have no idea what you're saying. Hold my breath? What aren't you removing, the infobox? - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 16:48, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- "Hold your breath" is a way of inquiring you to slow down a bit and assuring you that I'm not considering this a vote of the like. Yes, I'm speaking of the infobox. -ZeroTalk 16:51, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- Inquiring me? Granted, I'm a bit tired, but I'm having the damnedest time understanding what you're trying to say. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 16:53, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I suppose I'm attmepting to say the infobox looks somewhat too technical and needlessly complex in its design. I tend to appreciate simplicity in this case but I'm not motivated enough to remove the box at this time. -ZeroTalk 16:56, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- You object to the blue background and lined borders, correct? No other objections? - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 16:58, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- That's correct. I would appreciate plain white without lines, similar to the SNK infobox and format, although I agree the color syntaxes and second image syntax aren't needed:
{{{image}}} {{{caption}}} | |
Creator(s) | {{{creator}}} |
---|---|
Owner | {{{owner}}} |
Voice Actor(s) | {{{voice actor}}} |
Motion capture actor(s) | {{{motion actors}}} |
First appearance | {{{first appearance}}} |
Series | {{{series}}} |
Minor adjustments, of course, would be acceptable. Essentially, I tend to like them plain and able to mesh the illustrated images in easier as opposed to the more video game box CVG infobox we use for game articles.-ZeroTalk 17:04, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I'll take your input under advisement. Considering I've had positive feedback on this design and essentially no complaints besides yours (plus it shares the appearance with WP:CVG's other infobox, which is a plus), I don't think anything will come of it, though. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 17:07, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
- No worries. I'm not ranting and raving about it, merely a point I percieve. The general appearence of character aritcle templates is that of simplicity, so I don't see the need to change that view. -ZeroTalk 17:27, 2 July 2006 (UTC)
Trivia Section
Personally, I don't find it long at all. I don't even see a section within Wikipedia that defines exactly HOW long a Trivia section should be. Anyone else got any feelings about this? King Zeal 13:30, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- It should have zero entries: articles shouldn't have trivia sections at all. If the fact is important to the article, incorporate it elsewhere, but if it's truly trivial, ditch it. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 14:15, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- Trivia sections are fine as long as the editors use moderation and work within their own discretion. King Zeal 16:03, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- No, they're not. Remove the truly trivial and incorporate the non-trivial info elsewhere in the article; we don't need a section that's a grab-bag of factoids. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 21:16, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, I apologize and will make the necessary changes. King Zeal 21:33, 11 September 2006 (UTC)

Voice actor
Is Jin played by the same person when he speaks English in Tekken 4? He seems to sound older when he does. - The 4th Snake
Relationship with Asuka
- I don't think so. I don't see what the point is. Her fighting style aside, she clearly has Kazama blood because of her spiritual powers. I don't believe it's worth changing unless there's more compelling evidence to do so. King Zeal 14:36, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Namco X Capcom
Can anyone expand on Jin's role within Namco X Capcom? What he does, what his goals are, who he fights with/against, etc? King Zeal 14:23, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Deviljint5dr.jpg
Image:Deviljint5dr.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

protagonist or antagonist?
Jin seems to have characteristics of a protagonist and an antagonist together. What should I classify him as? I know the next sequel Tekken 6, he is potrayed as an antagonist.--Dark paladin x (talk) 19:47, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter. You can say the same thing about every Mishima in the Tekken saga (save for Jinpachi). Kazuya, Heihachi, and Jin have all taken turns as both the "hero" and the villain. However, the only two games in which a clear protagonist is stated is Tekken 1 (Kazuya) and Tekken 3 (Jin). Other than that, it's speculation. King Zeal (talk) 19:53, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- Well judging by the fact that the so called Devil Gene corrupted both Jin's devil AND normal form, from what I saw from Tekken 5, I'm guessing it can be justified that Jin in Tekken 6 is the antagonist. --Dark paladin x (talk) 03:41, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Jin is neither the game's final boss nor does any official source state that he is an antagonist. I don't know of any source that states that Jin is the definite antagonist. King Zeal (talk) 03:50, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Devil Jins Appearance
In the game I noticed when you select Devil Jin he has the chain across his waist, but in actual game play its not there until you buy it from the customization area. You should probably put that in the article. Or I will, but I wanted to see if anyone noticed yet.71.142.214.138 (talk) 04:20, 11 February 2008 (UTC)Cardinal Raven

Okay, so this page has gone for months without a lead image. Can anybody tell exactly what needs to be done to get one up there that won't be deleted a few weeks later? King Zeal (talk) 13:26, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
