ANTIQUATED!!

The entire introductory section is completely antiquated and would doubtless be considered offensive to very many people. The description of the people and their culture could be described as a crude rendering if its aim was to depict Jivaroan people one hundred years ago, let alone today. The Jivaroan peoples are by population likely to be the largest group of indigenous Amazonians today. This page is the equivalent of describing the Cherokee people as a divided band of heathens whose favourite activity is scalping their enemies.

This page needs to be completely made over. However given its crudeness and offensiveness there's a strong case for the page in its current form to be entirely deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.244.15.238 (talk) 17:28, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

I would add the fact that the Shuar people consider the term "Jivaro" as an insult, the word shouldn't have been used at all. 190.237.123.60 (talk) 03:45, 5 December 2022 (UTC)

oh yeah this article is a dumpster fire. Its horribly offensive, unnuanced and cites very few sources. 71.188.59.180, why not be bold and have a crack at it yourself? If you can post on a talk page, you've got the skills to delete or rephrase the worst parts of this article, e.g parts of the introduction, without necessarily having to do any research at all. Probably not, though I'm no expert on the incident. Perhaps add the details to the history section of the Logroño, Ecuador article, and then link to it from this article. Meticulo (talk) 13:26, 13 May 2021 (UTC)
