I am planning to read the article carefully and fix any mistake that I can find while I am reading. After that, I will reread the article again and make sure that I do not miss anything. For editing a page, I am going to explain why I am making these changes in the edit summary box, which is considered as a good etiquette, also known as wikiquette. 142.151.184.48 (talk) 02:41, 23 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Removed some awards

Per prior consensus, I removed non-notable and fan-run awards. Shinyang-i (talk) 02:18, 21 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Pronoun Issue

edit

Several editors have been attempting to change the pronouns on this page from "he" to "they", based on an a mistranslation of an interview Jo Kwon gave several months ago. Hyunsu Yim, a verified business reporter and actual Korean speaker, attests that the article in question was a manipulative clickbait misrepresentation that does not reflect the original language:

Various other Korean speakers have also pointed out the discrepancy: https://twitter.com/edeneterna/status/1293657961399812097

Jo Kwon has not made any claims to a non-binary or agender gender identity, and has not specifically requested to be called they/them pronouns in English, so I would like to request that editors refrain from making assumptions or impositions about his gender identity based on this viral misinformation. It is Wikipedia policy to base pronoun usage on self-identification, and Jo Kwon has not been shown to use and has not requested they/them pronouns. All reputable information suggests that Jo Kwon is gender non-conforming, but self-identified as a man. Insisting that Jo Kwon is not or cannot be a man because he identifies with an androgynous image is reductive and essentialist. It is also potentially dangerous for Jo Kwon's career in the context of conservative South Korean politics. Let's not make this decision for him based on wishful thinking. 2605:E000:1520:40B7:2094:46FD:17D8:D194 (talk) 07:24, 13 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
