editThis article is very biased in nature. Whoever wrote (at least part of) it clearly does not like Joe Duffy, and shows that in their writing (See the "OMG WTF SELL OUT WAAAAH!!11!!oneone!eleven" bit). Wikipedia articles should be neutral in viewpoint.
No - you are wrong this is a fairly accurate, if lighthearted account of his career. It is not complete however, certain key aspects of his financial dealings with Century Radio and his work with Ray Burke in terms of national broadcasting policy has not been covered. See the series in the Irish Times by Don Sommers and Mary Doran (-April/May 1995?) One thing that is total bs is the pony thing. Duffey hates horses and ponies. He claimed on air in August 2001, whilst broadcasting from the RDS Horse Show that they "are always watching and conspiring in that quiet unasumming way but really they rip your throat out if they had a chance" Duffey was then taken off air at Ballsbridge and after that and the unfortunate events at the Malahide Castle Gymkana in 2002 he really keeps away from horses and ponies which he has referred to as " feckin hairless giant ground rats with big teeth and weird evil eyes".
I've reverted recent changes to this article. Not only are they written in a obviously slanted way (you might want to read Wikipedia:Neutral point of view), they were verging on outright abuse. In fact, you definitely should read Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Morwen - Talk 19:26, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
Unsourced comment
editThe comment about Joe being the best loved radio presenter in Ireland (!) is completely unverifiable and most likely wrong if listenership figures are anything to go by. It is my opinion that it is a weasel sentence and I have removed it. It is clearly in breach of NPOV. Sorry, but what is this based on: "RTÉ publicly defended Duffy and Liveline but behind the scenes was said to be deeply embarrassed, even permitting the Sunday newspapers to "castigate" Liveline.", did the author hear somebody in the pub recounting this tale. Come on, this is pathetic. If you don't have any sources, don't include it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 164.143.244.34 (talk) 14:46, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
Funny Friday
editCan we indicate something about the unusual flavour and content of "Funny Friday". At the moment you might think it is just a round table with comedians, but you're not likely to get working stand-ups on the show. I considered inserting the word "ageing" before the word comedians. Any other ideas?

Questioning validity of NPOV tag
edit@AnomieBOT:This has an NPOV tag from July 2013 placed by AnomieBOT ( I thought that meant some robot/algorithm thing which would not surely be able to judge bias), The current version is essentially identical and I just don't understand where the bias is. Is it supposed to be pro or anti? There are negative but well sourced things like the lampooning of him by the Savage Eye show and Kevin Myers' comment but positive things like presidency of the Students Union TCD and presidency of the national students' union. Also things like saying he is famous for taking up the cause of disadvantaged people. I am mystified. I would like to remove the tag. Any support? Aineireland (talk) 18:52, 28 May 2021 (UTC)
