editI've read that Joe Elliott played in various bands before Def Leppard, not all of them as a singer, but I'm pretty sure these were garage band type bands. They all probably played covers of other peoples' songs.
'El Paso' incident
editHey, as far as I read on the source, Joe actually said that 'greasy mexicans' stuff in front of Tucson's crowd, - absolutely - not El Paso. He just referred to El Paso people there. I'm not gonna change the article because I don't have a good idea on how to express it, but it sure ain't right the way it is. Please, someone, fix it! Make it the good job I'm not able to do. Thanks. D7maj (talk) 05:01, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
////The problem is that Joe's minions will come back and remove the reference he made in Arizona, calling the El Paso crowd "a bunch of greasy Mexicans".
Joe likes to pretend that such never happened. - dsteitz
This has now been removed due to BLP concerns and the fact that the sourcing for it was from a totally unreliable website. 67.8.72.12 (talk) 20:54, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
Heavy metal
editI doubt DL should be classified as a heavy metal band. It is hard rock, hair metal, pop metal and rock, but not heavy metal. Norum (talk) 17:33, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
Cybernauts
editWhy aren't the Cybernauts listed in his discography? Must be a good reason. — Preceding unsigned comment added by LanceManion1973 (talk • contribs) 20:16, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
Guitar
editJoe Elliott sometimes plays guitar during live shows. AdamBendelow (talk) 16:01, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
- @AdamBendelow: Yes, he does. No one is saying he don't. The issue is only primary instruments connected to a artist (in this case, Elliott is best known for singing) are listed in the infobox per Template:Infobox musical artist#instrument, any secondary instruments the artist plays is meant to be brought up in the article body. Now if you feel that guitar is a primary instrument for Elliott, then gain consensus here then it will be added to the infobox. Hope this clarifies the issue better. Def Leppard name
editIt seems odd that the history of the Def Leppard name is in the second paragraph of Joe Elliott's entry. I don't think it belongs there. 2603:6011:45F0:ABA0:21B6:33E5:1B92:3153 (talk) 15:34, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
- Fixed It was originally in the body together with other text that was removed by a sockpuppet. StonyBrook babble 04:00, 1 September 2024 (UTC)
