Tarantino
editShould the fact that Quentin Tarantino uses him a fair amount in his soundtracks be mentioned? SkaTroma 18:34, 1 September 2007 (UTC)

Date of birth
editWe now have the silly situation where his year of birth is variously listed as 1933 and 1935 in this article. Can fellow editors try to address this anomaly - it could be that the date is disputed. If so the article should state this; not give both years without comment. Thank you, - Derek R Bullamore (talk) 15:21, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
- This source states "Joe Tex was born Joseph Arrington Jr, in Rogers, Bell County, Texas on August 8, 1935 (often misreported as 1933)....". Other sites giving 1935 include this, this, this... etc. Eagle and LeBlanc, Blues: A Regional Experience - which is generally regarded as reliable on such matters - gives 1933, sourcing it from the Texas Birth Index. However, the Texas Birth Index itself (accessible here, but subscription-only) in fact has it listed as 1935 not 1933. So, it seems to me that Eagle and LeBlanc are wrong in this instance, and that 1935 - as suggested in most reliable sources - is, in fact, correct. Ghmyrtle (talk) 18:47, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
- 1935 it is then. Funnily enough another of the sources listed in the article, more to do with his million sellers than anything else, actually cites 1936 ! So much for reliable sources, eh - Derek R Bullamore (talk) 19:08, 5 January 2019 (UTC)
