Do we have the right thesis?
editThe thesis referenced in the infobox, Signorum medicorum, appears to have been published in 1649, over 30 years after Bauhin's death. Furthermore, all referenced copies of the thesis name the author as Emmanuel Stupanus, which this article lists as Bauhin's doctoral advisor. My questions are thus:
- What was Bauhin's thesis, if he did not write the one referenced?
- Who was Bauhin's doctoral advisor? Stupanus was substantially younger than Bauhin, so does it make sense for him to be Bauhin's doctoral advisor?
I do not have sufficient knowledge with the subject matter to answer these myself, so I hope that somebody else will be able to rectify this. Lyricalcarpenter (talk) 21:31, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
