as far as I know neither Loschmidt nor Avrogradro knew about the number named after them. My professor said that Loschmidt just measured the size of the molecules. But he did not actually think of calculating the number FelixP 09:48, 12 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

According to Avogadro's number: Early values by Loschmidt and others by Hawthorne, Robert M., Jr. (J. Chem. Ed 47, 1970) the value for Avogadro's constant calculated from Loschmidt's data is 4.10*10^22, not the suspiciously accurate value claimed here. I cannot access this article, but if someone can please verify this and correct the value if necessary. In any case Loschmidt tried only to measure the size of the molecules, not the number, just as FelixP says. --89.236.66.206 10:56, 23 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Some minor information and links have been included.
To mark the era a little from the history of Kinetic Theory of Gases has been quoted, with minor formatting.
Hope they will be liked by the readers.
If not liked, my insolence may please be tolerated, as the minor additions helped me appreciate the perspective better.
