Because you asked (but I thought you knew): per MOS:OPENPARABIO, places of birth and death do not belong in the lead. (This is different in German.) I believe that hyphen or not doesn't really constitute a different name, but as you like it. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:03, 9 March 2021 (UTC)Reply

This musical biography mostly concerns German church organ music. For the French composer Jean Françaix, his place of birth and death are listed right at the beginning of the lead: so there are no strict rules, just guidelines. Similarly for Georges Auric. There does not seem to be any reason to choose Meran instead of Merano. Some German lexicons give short biographies of Köhler, which allow content to be checked. I added "authority control", which allows some recordings to be found: Handel organ concertos are examples. Köhler's involvement with the NSDAP and post-war politics can be found elsewhere.
