I will take a look at this article. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 03:16, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
General comments/suggestions: G'day, Money emoji, nice work. I have a few suggestions/comments: AustralianRupert (talk) 03:20, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
- the infobox says his date of death was "February 19", but the lead and body of the article says "February 18"
- Done. I decided to step in here as Money emoji hasn't responded for several days, and I have access to Settles via Project MUSE. Kges1901 (talk) 18:57, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry, I was busy due to Thanksgiving. I'll see if I can start working on it. Thanks to Kges1901 for stepping in.💵Money💵emoji💵💸 19:09, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- in the lead recapturing Galveston, Texas the following year --> the year that this followed doesn't seem to have been defined.
- link furlough
- They had three children; Isabella (1833 – July 20, 1869); Katherine (1836 – April 26, 1896) Elizabeth; and Henry R. (1841 – January 31, 1907): there appears to be four names here?
- Fixed, that was the result of a misplaced word. Kges1901 (talk) 18:57, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- found the circumstances favoring --> "found the circumstances favorable"?
- suffered a humiliating defeat: I suggest avoiding the word "humiliating" as it might convey a point of view. Probably best to just to say he was defeated
- army–the Army of the Potomac–to disembark...: the dashes here should probably be emdashes, not endashes
- Peninsula–about 13,600 men–was tasked...: same as above
- Done by Kges.
- The objectives of Lee–by assuming the offensive–was to : same as above
- In Paul Octave Hébert, Magruder's predecessor's, tenure Galveston, Texas: this seems a little awkwardly worded. Perhaps this might work: "Magruder's predecessor, Paul Octave Hebert, surrendered Galveston, Texas, on October 9..."?
- Changes to recommended text💵Money💵emoji💵💸 19:24, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- "The third-ranking..." --> "The third highest ranking"?
- ext links all work, no dab or dup links (no action required)
- "File:John B Magruder.jpg": needs a US licence
- the portal link should probably be placed at the top of the section it is currently displayed in
- on the talk page of the article, there is a query about the date of birth: "Douglas Southall Freeman says that Magruder was born at Winchester, Virginia, on August 15 1810..." I wonder if this discrepancy should be discussed in a note, or in some other fashion? AustralianRupert (talk) 03:24, 22 November 2018 (UTC)
- the Earwig tool reports no copyright concerns: [1] (no action required) AustralianRupert (talk) 00:28, 23 November 2018 (UTC)
- It looks like all of the concerns have been covered. AustralianRupert Think its passed? (Thanks for reviewing this btw)💵Money💵emoji💵💸 22:55, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- G'day, Money and Kges, yes those changes look good to me. I made a further minor tweak, as I realised I'd failed to mention a minor grammar issue. Thanks for your efforts. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 02:33, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
