I reckon that the picture is the wrong John Brown - can it be verified? Horis (talk) 23:07, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
I am pretty sure its the wrong one, the man in the picture must be John Brown (doctor). I made a correction on the Swedish wikipedia. I cant verify it, but see no reason why this John Brown would wear a costume from the late 18th century. And it looks like an engraving on linen paper.--85.228.209.247 (talk) 22:57, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
The picture has perhaps now been corrected? It is a picture of John Brown the physician and the date is right for that - that is waht the cation now says. The picture is very similar to one I have sourced at the National Portrait Gallery Edinburgh, which is of John Brown the physician and also photographs on the guttenberg project. Christine
