GT Darbourne's School Life
editI was at grammar school with John Darbourne and we were close friends between 1950 and 1953. The school, which ceased to exist as a grammar school in 1977, still has very good former pupil connections. The editor of our Old Grammarian's magazine recently drew my attention to this Wikipedia entry, and I feel that it does not do justice to his earlier life and the kind of person he was. I also have two or three photos which would show him as a living person, and not just his tombstone. I have not been involved in editing Wikipedia articles before and I wonder whether starting this chat will draw some interest and support for my plan to provide information which would nearly double the length of the entry.

References to the original entry
editAfter recently adding information to this entry about John Darbourne's early school life, I found the entry was full of my editing notes as to how to incorporate my new information into the original entry. I am afraid this happened because I am new to editing Wikipedia entries and this was my first attempt.
I have now edited the entry I found today (30 September 2023), deleting all the editing notes, so that the entry now reads as a coherent whole.
Below the entry under the heading 'Sources' are my notes 25-30 (which read coherently). I am sorry to say that the notes of sources for the original entry (1-25) have not survived in their original form. I would like help to access the source notes 1-24 to the original entry, so that they can be placed before my source notes (25-30)
