Source on taking Lords seat
editThe Guardian Obituary states "he never claimed his seat in the Lords". However, other sources seem to contradict this. In Hansard he is recorded as sitting in 1945 (but never making so much as a maiden speech), and in Dod's PC 1999 (the final before the HoL Act) he is not listed as a peer having never taken their seat. Personally, I would give more weight to Hansard and Dod's as reliable sources here and suggest the Guardian's obituary is not right in regards to this. He spent four years in a prisoner of war camp
editHow’d he get out?
Also, he sold Bridgewater House in 1948. Worth a mention? 2601:647:6680:4450:A485:EC85:1D5E:82A5 (talk) 16:14, 20 October 2024 (UTC)
