What it the School's Charter?
editTo say what others have said about the school is not relevant. We want to also know what the school is about. Does the school still exist? What this negative behaviour condoned? Were the alleged perpetrators ever brought to justice? --Walter Görlitz 20:30, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
- There is just the old buildings. It was an alternative school (I went there) when it was called JFK Prep - there is a face-book group but wiki won't let us link to it.
- The article lacks a lot of information, but my knowledge is from being there so I can't add anything due to wiki's rather insane rules. When I was there in 1972, it was a coed boarding school - and also the only private school that met the criteria of being legally integrated in Wi at the time. We could smoke in class, had modular scheduling - 6:1 Student teacher ratio, If you could find a teacher that would teach you a class of your design - you could take it. I got College credit for biology as a junior. We could work at our own pace - which for me allowed me to take quite a lot of school in the time I was there. I think a lot of the kids that went there have gone on to excel. The cost of tuition was based on a sliding scale so some Milwaukee inner city kids used it as a chance to change their futures.
- A lot of us ended up there due to family problems, so it was also much more than a school to us. JFK prep was extremely important to at least my life.
- Many, but not all, of the teachers were priest and brothers that we called by first name - 'Father Tony' etc. Some worked for $10/mo plus room and board. We were very lucky kids to have these people that cared about us.
Salvatorians
editSomeone started an article about the Salvatorians which is a Catholic religious order for men and women.JFK PREP/SDS was located in St. Nazianz, Wisconsin. The so called ghost stories, etc., seemed to be an urban legend.I am trying to find if an alumni group for JFK/SDS exists. If so that website should be included.Thank youRFD 15:28, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
Headline text
editI fail to see hoe the founder sent his men to "practice rituals" considering the founder never during his life or even after it had any accusation of this sort leveled at him.
Also it is an SOCIETY, not a "school", even the basics of this document are incorrect. Furthermore there is no evidence that any Salvatorian was ever responsible for any indecent acts there.
I would suggest that an admin just trashes this effort.

Important note
editThis school was really the start of providing school choice - not an insignificant thing. The minority students that went there did quite well - families remembered that - why Milwaukee has looked to school choice as providing a path out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.243.106.82 (talk) 00:05, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
Hogwash
editThis arcticle is full of lies, slander and half-truths... Even the founder is wrong. I know quite a bit about this place, as I live hnear it. This arcticle is 95 % lies! I can back my claims up.
- I also live near the place. I have cleaned up the article. I vaguely remember the place closing in the early 1980s. The several of the extra priests stayed in the area, which affected local Catholic churches near me. Royalbroil Talk Contrib 22:12, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
