What's the deal?
editWhy strip out the Infobox? Is there a rationale for that? This is not your personal webpage. Nobody WP:OWNs articles on Wikipedia. Some generally-accepted and expected features are usually placed in infoboxes. And what's the deal with deleting accessibility information from the infobox? Not everyone is sighted, and so they like to read what a picture is about. That's called WP:Accessibility. --Lexein (talk) 01:23, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Just trying to figure it all out. Thanks for your help. Lexein, I didn't know about WP:Accessibility. Thanks for telling me.Asphodel T. Greeny (talk) 01:48, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
bare_urls
editThere were marks for "bare_url" in the references. I tried to re-do references with all the necessary info.Asphodel T. Greeny (talk) 04:51, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- Whoever did that did you a terrible disservice by confusing you. If that was deliberate, it was horribly rude. The name of the ref "name=bare_url" is completely meaningless. It's just a name, and a very mean naming at that, because the WP:BAREURLS issue was resolved LONG AGO, because, as could be seen by inspection, there were were no actual bare URLs left in the article. I checked.
- At Wikipedia, we have WP:NAMEDREFS to simplify the gathering of identical references together, so they only appear once in the References section. You have gone through and instead of simply renaming the named refs to <ref name="StanBio"/> or some such, you've been tricked into copy/pasted the identical master citation in what, six places? Do you want me to clean it up? --Lexein (talk) 05:31, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Thank you for fixing that broken citation. And thank you for checking on the article. Yes, please clean it up if you think that is best. I hope your changes will stick! I've learned a lot today.Asphodel T. Greeny (talk) 07:05, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
