Strongly oppose. Scots tend to use Mac, Irishmen Mc, but there are exceptions both ways. This is one. The DNB article used as a source spells him McLennan; so does its modern update, the ODNB (and yes, they did rewrite the article); so do the overwhelming majority of the catalog entries for Primitive marriage in WorldCat. Oppose and move to early close The move request is based not on any evidence but on flawed logic. The Mc/Mac distinction is typically an Irish/Scottish one, but migration between the two places (particularly from Ireland to Scotland) means there is a mix anyway, regardless of whether this particular McLennan originated.
