Attendance at the University of North Carolina

edit

This statement is entirely incorrect: He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn at the age of 16, and began attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.[5]

He did not attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the 1930s nor start there when he was 16. The TCM biography should not be used as a source because it is not based on fact. There is no record at UNC-Chapel Hill of his enrollment at that age or at that time. John Forsythe/Freund was indeed an alumnus and a member of the General Alumni Association, having attended from 1944-1948 as part of the College for War Training (which included the V-5 and V-12 naval programs). 1944-1948 was the only time he was in Chapel Hill.

This is based on research I was asked to conduct as a librarian at UNC and I have verified the information by looking at enrollment records and other published material in the North Carolina Collection at Wilson Library at UNC, including the Alumni Review published by the GAA of UNC-Chapel Hill. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Atomlattice (talkcontribs) 14:52, 21 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

So was this guy queer or not? --68.118.188.188 (talk) 15:06, 22 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Quote: Forsythe's wife of 51 years, Julie Warren (October 20, 1919 — August 15, 1994), died at the age of 74,[9] in her hospital room, after Forsythe made the decision to turn off her life-support system. She had been in a coma following severe breathing difficulties.
In July 2002, Forsythe married businesswoman Nicole Carter (May 27, 1941 - May 11, 2010)[10] at Ballard Country Church;[11] they remained married until his death. Forsythe is survived by his son, two daughters, six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
So, what makes you think he was queer? -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 12:42, 24 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Birth name

edit

Sources differ, some saying John Lincoln Freund, others Jacob L. F. If a definitive answer is obtained we should still mention that other sources give the wrong name.
