Source for the Liberty Leading the People comparison?
editHello,
This article claims that Gast's painting American Progress "is considered the American equivalent to Eugène Delacroix's Liberty Leading the People". Is there a source for this? It seems to be both unnecessary and subjective- we should delete it.
thanks! Lilacsoutofthedeadground (talk) 01:15, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
Translation from German?
editHello,
The wp:de article is well developed: anybody would be able to translate it?

Source
editThe master's thesis Beyond "American Progress": The Legacy of John Gast by Rothenberg, Samantha, published by ProQuest looks like a very relevant source. I only have access to a preview of the first handful of pages, however. Wham2001 (talk) 18:11, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
