Tx to the editors
editJohn was my godfather. The last time I looked at his wiki page it was mostly sniggering at him being a drunk and giggling about Redonda. This new page, however, is excellent, and highlights his abilities as an editor, his passion for poetry, and the help he gave to many aspiring writers. He was a sot - alcoholism creeps up on people, and the post war years were heavy drinking years all round - but also a very capable individual. My parents told me he thought the Redonda thing was a good joke to scam free drinks out of the gullible, and he and my father often got soused for free. So thanks to the the editors for this update.
Television documentary
editA BBC documentary on John, from 1970 or earlier, is here:

I don't know the source or when it was broadcast. It features interviews with e.g. Lawrence Durrell. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.198.27.218 (talk) 06:04, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
