Politics
editRecently, Mr Harvey-Jones has come to the public's attention largely as a sponsor of The New Party, an organisation which campaigns against environmental causes - why is there no mention of this in the article? HairyDan 12:58, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Easy criticism is free Hairy Dan but why don't you put something together yourself if you have any information - that's the idea isn't it? The content on this site doesn't write itself! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Captain McVitie (talk • contribs) 18:47, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
is this a cut and paste article from another website? Or vice versa?

not very ethical either way is it? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Captain McVitie (talk • contribs) 19:53, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- Definitely a copyvio, I've removed most of the text --Stephen 03:22, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
E-Boat
editThe article says Mr. Harvey-Jones got an MBE for commanding an E-Boat. Err, E-Boats were small surface craft of the German Navy in World War II. One presumes he commanded it very poorly? :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.48.205.42 (talk) 20:42, 10 January 2008 (UTC) The E-boat was used by the Royal Navy post war for intelligence gathering JHJ was asked about it in a tV interview - he replied as he was engaged in "Fisheries protection" —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ala.foum (talk • contribs) 16:29, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
Biography?
editShouldn't this article have something about Sir John's life—in particular his service in the Navy & his time at ICI? And the Quotes section isn't much better than a collection of Trivia.
I see that much of the text was removed because of copyvio: fair enough. The material simply needs to be rewritten/summarized. --NigelG (or Ndsg) | Talk 10:57, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Wife's name
editDifferent sources give her name as Mary Bignell and Mary Evelyn ("Betty") Atcheson. Her relative MR FRANCIS WILLIAM BIGNELL ATCHESON (born Nov 1924) has both names. cagliost (talk) 13:11, 14 August 2023 (UTC)
