Funny, but nonencyclopedic

edit

I removed the following:

"John is an avid user of fanny packs and is never seen around campus without one. When asked in an interview for Devisen (a student union magazine at Chalmers University) what he carries around in his fanny pack, he answered it was full of old boarding passes and lecture notes.

John has been teaching the basic course in Haskell for some time, where he is known for ripping apart telephone books when talking about binary searches."

but perhaps the telephone-book claim could be restored if there's a source for it (doubtful). SparsityProblem 23:13, 13 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

the telephone-book claim could be the statements of all of us who have taken the course (about 140students /year).

Sorry, "I saw him do it" does not count as a verifiable source :-) (If, for example, a student publication -- like the one mentioned in the fanny pack paragraph -- had written about this, and you could cite a volume and issue number for that publication, that would count.) Devisen #1 2001. Unfortunately that issue is not available online (www.dtek.chalmers.se/~devisen). I'll se if there are pictures of professor Hughes ripping apart phonebooks ;)

Well, I can vouch that the telephone book story is true... I did it every year for ages! But I guess even that isn't documentary evidence :-) (John Hughes) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.105.169.156 (talk) 17:29, 25 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
