editThe section on the "Colchester connection" was created by me (alan@awscott.freeserve.co.uk) based on the article cited by my father. Unfortunately the Essex Journal only exists in paper format - so I am unable to provide a hyperlink citation. A previous reference to the "Colchester connection" has been found, from early 1847, when a local antiquary gave a talk claiming that inventor of the Flying Shuttle was distantly related to him through a family in Coggeshall, Essex. Whilst there was a John Kay born in Coggeshall at the material time the other details do not match. 84.70.21.243 (talk) 15:22, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
