Image of John Kovalic
editRemoved image of John by his request. This would demonstrate a lack of the equivalent of a model release for this image. Anyone have a better looking picture? -Dr Haggis - Talk 23:35, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
- You don't need a model release for reporting purposes, especially for noteable people. (And of course he's notable; he's got an article.) I'm sympathetic to Kovalic's complaint, but he doesn't get to exclude accurate images he doesn't like any more than he gets to exclude accurate textual claims he doesn't like. If we can acquire a better image, I'm certainly in favor of replacing it. In the meanwhile, the existing image is superior to not having an image. A few searches failed to turn one up. I've contacted Kovalic asking if he can offer us a better one under a suitable license and offering to help him get it online. — Alan De Smet | Talk 06:24, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- Although I believe De Smet's arguments are correct, I'd prefer to honor the request of Mr. Kovalic out of respect for him.--Appraiser 13:06, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- Seconded. I'm sure a better photograph will turn up. Timmccloud 13:42, 9 November 2007 (UTC)
- Can we get a better photo? (One where he isn't squinting so much?) RJFJR (talk) 16:45, 16 March 2017 (UTC)
- I replaced the photo once again. It doesn't really matter much whether we pick the portrait or the drawing picture (I quite like the latter, though), as both are better than the 2008 picture. Feel free to check out Commons and form your own opinions. ~Mable (chat) 10:11, 22 March 2017 (UTC)
Full game list
editWhat's the value of the full game list? It's based on a blog post by Kovalic in which he's trying to justify making his list as long as possible. Thus it includes silly things like multiple entries for the Apples to Apples series, for which he contributed a single piece of original art (the apple). Is listing every single Munchkin game tell us more about John than simply saying "John has been the sole artist(unsure) for Steve Jackson Games Munchkin series of games, contributing over X pieces of art." I think that a brief list of his more notable contributions would be more helpful than drowning the article in such a list. — Alan De Smet | Talk 04:03, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- That was one of my first thoughts when I saw this page. I have removed it. As an aside, he is not the sole munchkin artist as there are occasionally guest artists who do a few cards or an entire expansion pack.Waerloeg (talk) 08:45, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
