Issue of "importance"
editLeConte may well have been the "most important American entomologist of the 19th century", but it is not wikipedia's job to decide that. The link cited for that: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Lawrence_LeConte#cite_note-birdname-1 goes to a page that doesn't exist. I have edited "most important American entomologist of the 19th century" to something less judgmental. 173.174.85.204 (talk) 18:04, 29 June 2017 (UTC) Eric

Dead link
editThe link that says LeConte fought in the California Volunteers doesn't go anywhere. Also, the California Volunteers page looks like a list of different units, so this article should probably link to the one he fought in. Tobirder (talk) 00:53, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
- Archive link works, mention of service in California Volunteers on page 14, says infantry, but doesn't name unit. Donald Albury 02:07, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
