Creator of Gunsmoke

I can't find any solid data one way or another, but I don't think Meston was part of the 1949 pilots for Gunsmoke. Morton S. Fine and David Friedkin get the writing credit for those pilots, and they probably invented Marshall Mark Dillon. Meston was certainly involved in the show in 1952, but is there a cite for Meston in 1949?  Randall Bart   Talk  23:14, 3 June 2011 (UTC)
