This article had no citations whatsoever for birth name, birth date, birthplace, children, education and other personal-life claims, in violation of WP:BLP, one of Wikipedia's most stringent policies. Do not make such claims without strict WP:RScitations. --Tenebrae (talk) 22:33, 27 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Hello, Marquardtika! I totally understand your concerns about COI but I have no conflict of interest in editing this particular page and I’m just a common editor as you are. I’ve been improving several pages recently and John Morgan is just one of them. My concern is that you deleted all my edits at once, so I hope you have no conflict of interest as well to discuss the updating of this page.
As a matter of fact, I started working on the page in my sandbox because I found it very far from being encyclopedic. For your reference, please, check this link, so you can easily compare my work and the current state of the page:
Now, I’d like to detail what I actually did and why. What triggered my attention is that the page doesn’t reflect the person’s biography in full and many sections contain information chaotically. In my opinion, the current page looks more like a tabloid article than an encyclopedic one. So, here what I did to improve the page:
I included initiatives of legalizing medical marijuana in 2016 and minimum per hour wage of $15 by 2026 (also known as 2020 Florida Amendment 2. This information is very well referenced and important to include as we are talking about the actions on the state or regional level with the impact on more than 20 million people. Actually, I think this is the most important thing, the lawyer has done until now.
I expanded the lawyer’s biography section based on reliable sources
I moved irrelevant information from the career to Politics section to separate the lawyer’s legal career and his political activity. I also added «Early beginnings subsection and detailed on the major milestones of the company, detailing on the information about beginning of mass advertising, partners etc. I also balanced the controversial text relying on the same sources to make it more neutral and readable encyclopedically. Finally, I listed information on some notable cases with good references.
Politics section consists the information currently found in the History with some additions.
Civil rights initiative and charitable causes is an important section because it is mostly about legal initiatives where John Morgan took a notable part and did a lot of contributions.
Criticism. I didn't remove any criticism but added more information from the same sources. Writing about "dick jokes" without adding some relevant info is clearly not the best examples of biography writing and might potentially violate WP: BLP.
I had been working on improvement of the articles in my sandbox for almost two weeks and did a serious research, I’d appreciate if you can spend some time to discuss your concerns in detail here on the talk page. All the information in my updates is very well referenced and verifiable. Please, share what looked promotional or non-neutral in my writing. Also, since you removed all of my edits at once, I’m inclined to ask for the second opinion from other editors, in particular from Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard. --Evilfreethinker (talk) 10:18, 20 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
