Fair use rationale for Image:John Nettleton.jpg
editImage:John Nettleton.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

John Nettleton (actor) → John Nettleton – The article on the Rhodesian Victorian Cross recipient is more commonly known by his full-name making disambiguation highly unnecessary as the article on the article is the only article of this exact name. - Comment but is "John Nettleton" more commonly the Victoria Cross recipient, or the actor? It doesn't matter what the VC person is most known by, since we aren't moving that page. -- 76.65.131.160 (talk) 03:47, 18 July 2012 (UTC)
- Comment - Well yes it does matter what the VC person is known by. For example, if a famous singer holds the same name but uses a different stage name exclusively, it is unreasonable to believe that as many people are wikipedia-ing the singer with his real name as his stage name. - Oppose as there is no evidence that the VC recipient is more commonly known by his full name. Of the 3 working references one lists his full name and then refers to him as Squadron-Leader Nettleton[1], one shows a picture entitled "Squadron Leader J.D. Nettleton" and then refers to him as John Nettleton[2], and the third refers to him multiple times as John Nettleton[3]. From that evidence I would support moving John Dering Nettleton to John Nettleton (VC) per WP:COMMONNAME, and reverting John Nettleton (disambiguation) back to John Nettleton. Rumpole of the Baily
editJohn Nettleton was also in two episodes of Rumpole of the Baily. I'd have to watch them again to find out which episodes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.166.163.30 (talk) 19:14, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
