James O'Fallon
editJohn O'Fallon's father was James O'Fallon cited as Dr. James O'Fallon in several sources. The article mentioned that "James O'Fallon, was a physician who served as a surgeon in Washington's army during the Revolutionary War." While this is partly true, the whole truth leaves much to be uncovered. Here is the reference: http://users.usinternet.com/dfnels/ofallon.htm
I think James O'Fallon is worthy of his own page because of his historical significance, raising an army without the permission of the fledgling US government and reprimanded by Washington and Jefferson. In another reference book I possess (George Catlin, Letter and Notes on the North American Indians" edited and with an introduction by Michael M. Mooney, page 36) the whole affair of James O'Fallon and his attempt to colonize with a private army is called "The Spanish Affair".
Also James's other son, Benjamin, is worthy of his own page. The reference will help fill some of the information.
Because of this family's connections to George Rogers Clark, father and mother of each individual should be detailed. Daniel 18:17, 11 March 2017 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dlang4 (talk • contribs)
