I beleive the external links section is damaged and probably has been from the beginning of the article. The first link refers to Pensions & Investments Online (and not to Bloomberg Magazine January 2008) and so I have added some relevant display text to the link to clarify this. However, I have not been able to recreate the missing link with which the Bloomberg Magazine display text should be associated. Maybe someone else - perhaps the original author? - can sort this out --Romney yw (talk) 04:49, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Any relations to United States Secretary of Treasury?
If this article is still intact in foreseeable future, I recommend putting in where to make clear if such relations of Mr. Paulson exists to [Henry Paulson], United States Secretary of Treasury, or not. It's probably unlikely they're related... but make sure just in case one might ask about that... Thanks. --Legion (talk) 20:57, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
He is not related to Hank Paulson. They don't even share the same religion. JP is Jewish, Hank not. End the conspiracy theories. You're welcome. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.189.183.77 (talk) 16:02, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Enquiring minds need to know. We all know that in the history of mankind there have been no conspiracies. Oh, maybe I am wrong about that but most certainly not in the history of the US.
- Others must also be confused about whether Hank came from the Wall Street firm of Paulson. The recent Wall Street Journal editorial by John [1]
attackedsuggested an alternative to, the policies of Hank without mentioning their familial relation [if any] at all. Are they [not] related? [Family] arguments, or differing religious beliefs, are no evidence. Can the [lack of] family connection be referenced? Or, rather, in the age of news that Barack is related to Cheney and Bush, can we document the family distance without going all the way back to Lucy (a presumed common human ancestor)? [2] Inquiring minds will turn to Wikipedia to find out. SalineBrain (talk) 07:29, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
- John Paulson's background. Commenter 216.189.183.77 says JP is Jewish. He could be part Jewish, but there is no sourcing on it. Gary Weiss says that Paulson's father came from a Norwegian family in this article. Hank P grew up in FL as a Christian Scientest; JP grew up in Queens and was raised by his Jewish mother in that faith. Hank Paulson certainly never came from John Paulson's firm. He is a veteran of Goldman Sachs. Good grief. Anyone on Wall Street could tell you that.
- According to a biography of John Paulson published recently, titled "The Greatest Trade Ever: The Behind-the-Scenes Story of How John Paulson Defied Wall Street and Made Financial History" (by Gregory Zuckerman), his family origins might be Norwegian/French on the paternal side and Jewish from Eastern Europe on the maternal side. Pages 16 & 17. The book also claims John Paulson was raised Jewish by his mother. Page 18. Note: John Paulson was born to Alfred Paulson (originally Paulsen) and Jacqueline Boklan. --Mary473 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mary473 (talk • contribs) 17:50, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Is he related to Pat Paulson, the guy who once ran for the U.S. Presidency?
I believe they are both Jewish too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.143.107.87 (talk) 02:51, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
How crappy is this punctuation?
from New York University’s College of Business and Public Administration,1978 , where he graduated first in his class,
Don't people even know where to put commas? And the article isn't even editable!

- I cleaned it up a little. The article IS editable, but since John Paulson is in the news the article has been semi-protected, which means only registered users can edit the page. You should create a Wikipedia account. Sandeylife (talk) 13:03, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
J. Paulson's personal $5 billion net in 2010. I dont know if this is included in the article [I scanned it], but I think it should be: "Hedge-fund boss John Paulson personally netted more than $5 billion in profits in 2010, trumping the nearly $4 billion he made in 2007 shorting subprime mortgages." http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704268104576108390332589096.html?mod=WSJ_hp_MIDDLENexttoWhatsNewsTop Wall St. Journal 173.210.125.42 (talk) 18:52, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
Motion to Split the Article
It is not appropriate in my opinion to have the Paulson & Co. article redirected to this BLP. This view was supported at the BLP noticeboard.[3] If there are no objections I am going to remove the redirect, recreate the Paulson & Co. article and move the non-BLP content out of this article. Comments? -- — Keithbob • Talk • 16:04, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
- I've gone ahead and removed the redirect and recreated the old article Paulson & Co.. However I will wait a few days before I remove any content from this page in case anyone has objections. Thanks! -- — Keithbob • Talk • 16:34, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
