BBC series
editI have corrected the title of John's BBC series, which I remember well, to Hold Down a Chord. The name previously given (String Along with John Pearse) is not in fact in the reference cited.
In the stories of the BBC he told during his gigs at the time, John mentioned that they were originally going to call it Take Hold of Your Instrument, until someone pointed pointed out that this might not be a good idea… Paul Magnussen (talk) 17:32, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Martin Carthy
editI question whether Hold Down a Chord inspired the young Martin Carthy: Martin was already well known on the folk scene at that time and had appeared on TV; his first LP was released in 1965. Paul Magnussen (talk) 16:14, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
