The article had said that Steelman was a Republican, which would be pretty unusual for someone serving Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Harry S. Truman. Several weeks ago, I added a "citation needed" tag to that, but nobody provided a citation. His obituaries in The Washington Post and The New York Times make no mention of his political party. I'm pretty sure if he had been a Republican serving Democratic presidents, the obit writers would have found that noteworthy and mentioned it. Pha telegrapher (talk) 02:16, 27 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
