editA birth in early December 1877 can be derived from context in the biography that covers his parents. In order to get the exact date, I used the birth search facility on the Births, Deaths & Marriages website: Enter Family Name (Rolleston), Given Name(s) (John), Search From Date (04/12/1877) and Search To Date (04/12/1877) - this is the only date that will return his birth certificate.
Similarly, a death date of 22 May 1956 can be derived through a death date search. Schwede66 19:13, 17 December 2011 (UTC)
