Irish nationality
editAccording to journalist Kevin Dowling, Weir holds an Irish passport, giving him Irish citizenship. I would be curious to know how many Irish-born people joined the RUC and still retained Irish nationality.--Jeanne Boleyn (talk) 06:17, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
- Ulster Protestants from the Republic were as likely to join the RUC as the Garda Síochána. I've never heard of anyone from the other three provinces joining, apart from the RIC men who came in at the start. Gob Lofa (talk) 17:48, 3 August 2015 (UTC)
