Appropriate Material?
editI do not believe that the following paragraph in the article is appropriate since it deals with the estate, not the musuem.
- Aside from the art museum, the estate of Mable and John Ringling also features Mable Ringling’s rose garden, completed in 1913. The rose garden is located near the original Mary Louise and Charles N. Thompson residence within the beautifully landscaped grounds overlooking Sarasota Bay. The estate also contains the Cà d'Zan ("House of John") - the waterfront residence they designed and built in 1926 - and a museum devoted to the Ringling Brothers Circus. Cà d'Zan was restored in 2002 under the direction of Francis J. Puig during his tenure as curator of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art.
What are people's thoughts about removing this paragraph? (RossF18 04:15, 8 February 2007 (UTC))
Well, the estate and museum are pretty much synonymous, so I think it would take away from the article if you removed it. (Iraqiman 15:58, 18 February 2007 (UTC))
Research
editTo All:
I'm researching information for an article about construction of the Ringling Museum of Art (Sarasota, FL). If you have any details about John and Mabel Ringling and/or John Phillips who was the New York architect hired by Ringling to design the Museum I would be very grateful for your insights and guidance. Construction for the Museum began around 1927 and had a "preview" opening in 1930. Complementarily, information about Ringling and his European art agent (Boehel ?) would also be very useful.
Very gratefully,
