Incarceration
editHey there fellers, still waiting for a reliable source? Look, CNN is not going to report it folks, neither is any major news outlet (which you deem is the only reliable source in the world *rolleyes*). Listen, I went to the Los Angeles County Sherrif's Department website, and guess what I found out about Johnny J: [1]. This is him alright, search it yourself if you don't believe me. So for the love of God, if you can't add in death details, please just add in the details about his arrest and incarceration in the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in LA County. Jackson was arrested on June 20th, and has been imprisoned since July 15th.[2] This is as perfect and reliable of a source you can get--the LASD. If you can't accept this as a reliable source, then I've completely given up on wikipedia. I mean, even Johnny J's MySpace editor put up "RIP" on his page.[3] No wonder people find wikipedia unreliable. Shame on you. Lhw1 (talk) 07:42, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- Really? I thought the reason people found Wikipedia 'unreliable' is because people like you just added what they wanted. As of yesterday his (obnoxiusly overanimated) MySpace page still stated he was alive (or at least wasn't stating he was dead) and so far every other source was either a copy/paste of an already unreliable source of some twit saying 'It's true! I heard it from someone who heard it from someone else who heard it from a cousin!' It's called 'following procedure'. You might try it some time. HalfShadow 16:01, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- Like I said, no major news outlet has written an article on his death, nor will they ever. It's been 3 days since he passed, how late can they possibly be? We'd be here in four years and you'd still be thinking he was alive. That's the point I'm trying to make. Lhw1 (talk) 17:08, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
- You're exactly right, thanks for sharing this infoCosprings (talk) 14:18, 6 October 2008 (UTC)
Suicide rumor?
editPlease help verify his "suicide". If this is true then it is extremely sad and disappointing. Lhw1 (talk) 21:22, 4 October 2008 (UTC)
- At present, there is one source, ThugLifeArmy.com, claiming that the subject has died. I've reverted to remove the claims of his death until better sources come forward. As we've seen in the past, death claims can cause serious bad press for us when the subject - Dave Grohl and Sinbad, for example - are actually still alive. Be very cautious, please. Tony Fox (arf!) 00:02, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
- AllHipHop.com just published it. [4] Is it sufficient enough? Lhw1 (talk) 04:46, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
it's true. i've gotten word from his family. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.90.159.137 (talk) 05:23, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
- You quoting his family is not a reliable source, that's a primary source. Read what is. As for AllHipHop, I'm a little wary of that one as well. It's still only in the blogosphere right now. Tony Fox (arf!) 05:44, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
- I detest. While primary sources are usually frowned upon, they are good to report brief facts, which is what we most need right now. Original research for this simple fact (his death) is more than likely acceptable under these circumstances. Kurupt confirmed it on DJ Whoo Kid's morning show today. Various sources say they have legitimately contacted Jackson's relatives as well as Amaru Entertainment, and the allegations have turned up to be true. Right now all we need is a brief stub about the incident, and we can reference secondary sources as more news about this incident emerges. It is requested that editors do not remove the death section. Adding Death section now. Lhw1 (talk) 06:03, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
What makes allhiphop.com a reliable source? Find a newspaper article. Little Red Riding Hoodtalk 07:24, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
It's true. Crstyle the Great (Chris Celarz) confirmed it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aB6yEYcUn8s —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheSaahib (talk • contribs) 14:47, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
- Unless you can give a source a bit more official than Youtube, it's goin to keep getting reverted. You need to have something from a trustworthy news source. All we need is one from one of the online news sites (a real one like CNN or something like that). HalfShadow 15:50, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
- So waiting for someone like TMZ.com, which isn't really a blog but isn't that great yet, to report on it [5] (as something that isn't just a rewrite of the ThugLife piece) was too long to wait. To LHW1: read the reliable sources guidelines again. Someone saying "I talked to the family, it's true!" is most definitely not a reliable source. We require verifiability. I still don't have much faith in the sources we've got here, but whatever; I'm unwatchlisting. Tony Fox (arf!) 18:35, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
It's True TMZ Reported It http://www.tmz.com/ —Preceding unsigned comment added by The4's (talk • contribs) 18:59, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
Still no reliable sources, but I am not going to edit war over it. I will list it at BLPN. Little Red Riding Hoodtalk 19:48, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
I went ahead and added a section about his death since his own MySpace page and MTV.com have now posted the story. MTV, I believe, is credible.Supafly 2000 (talk) 01:35, 7 October 2008 (UTC)
Production discography
editSomebody Fix the Production discography it's not complete its missing dozens of tracks —Preceding unsigned comment added by The4's (talk • contribs) 18:44, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
- Hello. I made a major update containing nearly every single production Johnny J has done in his career, and it seems way too long. Do we need to make a new page? Lhw1 (talk) 13:19, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
