The same as John I?
editThe article is redirected to John I. Jon Jarl and John I very hardly the same person. --Drieakko 20:07, 7 January 2007 (UTC)
Cancelled AFD
editI just cancelled the AFD because I was sure it was a hoax and that I hadn't realised it could be redirected to the videogame. However, on discovering the videogame doesn't have an article I did some more digging but found nothing except a "Jon Earl". Is Jarl an alternative spelling of Earl or is this a hoax? - FWIW I found the following Swedish page on the subject. Google Translate rendered Swedish "Jon Jarl" as English "Jon Earl". The Swedish page takes fragmentary mentions and concludes they may apply to three different people in the later 12th century. Paragraph 3 seems to be the person the Wiki article is about. - @RobDuch: Ah, that will have been the Earl mentioned in the book. I was unaware that was a transliteration, my Swedish is admittedly poor. I came across the article because I was going through the neutrality disputed articles, there's nothing POV about it per se, just unsourced, so I'll remove the tag and look for Jon Earl sources to add. Many thanks, SITH (talk) 11:17, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
