M&M's voice
editWhy is there no mention of him doing the voice-over as the red M&M spokescandy/mascot. There is mention of this in the M&M's article. Logicwax (talk) 22:02, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

Adding to some missing details
editJon Lovitz appeared as the manager of Dickie Roberts in the movie, Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star. Also, when you watch the movie, Matilda, when the Wormwoods are watching television when Matilda's father forces her to watch it while she was reading a book, the host of the show in the television looks and sounds so much like Jon Lovitz. Clarify me on this, but I'm certain that's him. "Let's get sticky with Mickey!" (?)
The Simpsons
editI'm removing him from Category:Simpsons cast members as he was AFAIK a guest star in only one episode. Angr/comhrá 20:02, 23 May 2005 (UTC)
- According to IMDB he has nine voice acting credits on the Simpsons, but I still concur that it hardly qualifies as a cast member credit since there is over 350 episodes. - Laisak 22:04, August 3, 2005 (UTC)
- A quick Google search showed that on the Simpons, Lovitz has appeared in the following seasons: #2 (Artie Ziff, Mr. Seckofsky), (Professor Lombarbo); #3 (Aristotle Amadopolis); #4 (Llewellyn Sinclair); #6 (Artie Ziff), (Jay Sherman aka The Critic); #8 (Artie Ziff), (Jay Sherman aka The Critic).
Yes... Artie Ziff is definitely a recurring character. Lovitz was also MS. Sinclair in Season 4. Although he is obviously not a core cast member, he is recognized by Wikipedia:WikiProject The Simpsons.LeSaint 22:25, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- Anyone that they get back on more than four occasions can be considered a cast member. He has appeared 8 times, which will be nine after Homerazzi, and he was in the DVD commentary for A Star is Burns. He should be considered a cast member. Gran2 07:30, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
Leno
editHe was on Leno just now and he claimed someone on Wikipedia referred to him as a "frog-faced, pear-shaped comedian." 67.46.0.13 04:45, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
He also had a pet bull on the show, named Jay Leno!
yeah, I deleted that. While I was watching the show. That's mean. Wouldn't it be really funny if he started editing this article? I think it would be funny.
(I'm not him though).
Jewish?
editHe's listed as a Jewish American actor, but I've seen him say that he's not jewish in an interview. When talking about his character "Hannukah Harry," he said even though he's an Itallian, he's good at playing jews.
- Yeah, he also mentioned that gullible wasn't in the dictionary...he was joking. He's not really Italian. He is Jewish. Once, when he was counting down the best songs of the 1980s on VH-1, he said he wasn't born until 1987. Should we change his birthdate too?
Standup
editHow does one "enter" standup comedy? That phrase is terribly written and unclear. Without any detail whatsoever as to what sort of standup effort he was doing. A tour? A TV show? At a Denny's?
- Plus, I saw him do standup at the Los Angeles Laugh Factory in either late 2002 or early 2003 - he wasn't one of the scheduled acts, but he did stop by and do a set. That section needs to be revised/deleted. - Tyler 04:52, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
Breaking Andy Dick's face
editIs the beating Andy Dick received worth mentioning here? It seems like it was a long time coming. User:EricEstrada
- Yes, yes it was.
- "ANDY DICK FEARS JON LOVITZ"
- WHY was the "Confrontation with Andy Dick" section removed?? --139.60.210.5 (talk) 15:47, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
if no-one has any objects, I'm going to re-add it --74.178.228.214 (talk) 16:43, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
definitely put it back in.

Conflicting stories
editThe story on Lovitz's page and the story on Andy Dick's page don't tell the same details. If the site is meant to be unbiased shouldn't that not happen? Which story should be published in both? Alchemistmerlin 13:20, 24 August 2007 (UTC)

Jamie Lee Curtis double-grope
editWHAT? No mention of the famous incident where JLC won an award presented by Lovitz, and he slowly reached over and felt her breast, then without skipping a beat she grabbed his crotch? 199.214.28.244 22:05, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Divorced?
editOn NNDB.com it states that he is divorced. Is there any truth to this or any more info? - Amorwikipedia (talk) 01:08, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Tommy Flanagan
editI believe the conceptual originator of Tommy Flanagan was actually Conan O'Brien as a character for Jon Lovitz. I think Conan may have been influenced by a character in a book by Peter Payson Rand. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.252.109.36 (talk) 00:29, 7 June 2009 (UTC)
- This theory seems unlikely, as Tommy Flanagan first appeared on SNL in 1985 and Conan O'Brien didn't write for the show until 1987. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.74.57.100 (talk) 17:28, 17 December 2012 (UTC)
Personal life -- gay?
editI just saw a clip of the Bob Saget roast, in which Greg Girardo quips that Jon Lovitz is "the most closeted feminine Jew since Anne Frank." Is there any truth to Lovitz being gay? This is the first I'm hearing about it, but then, I never bothered thinking about it, either. --204.246.229.130 (talk) 21:17, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
- It has been well established in the research community that celebrity roasts are the gold standard for accurate biographical material. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.252.223.226 (talk) 06:14, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
Stand-up Organization
editHope no one minded. I took the liberty of organizing the 'Stand-up' area by removing things from it that didn't quite constitute as 'stand-up' such as his Subway commercials and his acting of the film in the producers. I put 'The Producers' under his film work and made a new section where the Subway commercials would look more appropriately placed. Perhaps the 'Jon Lovitz Comedy-Club' and 'Stand-up Comedy' sections should be merged. Just a thought.74.68.111.225 (talk) 18:31, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
SNL credits
editSo in the SNL section, it says he was a regular from 85-90, then down on television credits it ways 85-92. I think he was contract until 1990, then he did cameos over the next while plus he hosted at one point. This should probably be clarified in the tv credits area.Jaydub99 (talk) 17:01, 2 July 2012 (UTC)

"Credit"
editFrom the lead: "His film credits include [..] Matilda."
From the filmography: "1996 | Matilda | Mickey | Uncredited"
This really bothers me. Harmonex (talk) 02:27, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
- Non-notable credit, not even listed at the article. Removed. Thanks.--☾Loriendrew☽ ☏(ring-ring) 23:02, 1 August 2017 (UTC)
Jon's falling out with Kevin Smith and Ralph Garman
editWhat happened to this? Where is an entry? - Tallaussiebloke (talk) 04:24, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
I should note that this isn't a simple bit of drama or the like. He SCREWED THEM OVER in a BUSINESS sense. Contract to use the JLCC as headquarters for Smith's Smodcast podcasts and all. A WHOLE FLOOR was supposed to be rented to the duo. Lovitz pulled out and booted them out. Granted, we only have the gripings of Smith and Garman about this, so one side, but it EXISTS. - Tallaussiebloke (talk) 11:20, 23 April 2018 (UTC)
High School High
editThere is NO mention of his funniest role. I wonder why 🤔🤔 2601:80:C680:B330:F795:BCCA:6701:8536 (talk) 15:33, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
